FICUS MICROCARPA 'GREEN ISLAND'

 

Ficus microcarpa 'Green Island' is great bonsai material.
As a plant it is slow growing but eventually will form a low, ground-hugging, mounding shrub to about 4 feet.
It has a dense covering of rounded bright green, leathery leaves.
Unlike some Ficus varieties it does not have destructive roots and is not aggressive.

Light : Full/partial sun
Water : let dry before watering
Prune occasionally to restrict height and pinch side shoots to encourage lateral growth.
It can also make a great groundcover.
